Moore Brothers Music

The store is located on the Sammamish Plateau, bordering the communities of Redmond and Issaquah, Washington.
Suzie Grey
An amazing performer with whimsical, thoughtful, original songs about laughter, hugs, climbing your own mountain and much more - singing with a strong, beautiful voice and playing the piano with that touch of elegance which only comes from experience.

To top this off, at 94 yrs old this year, Suzie has the energy and creativity that most of us can only hope to have as we grow to maturity.

The FolkStore
Folkstore sits tucked in a narrow storefront along Roosevelt Way Northeast, virtually hidden from view but frequently alive with the pickin' and toe-tappin' of customers and old friends who stop by to test out the merchandise right on the sales floor.

Stu Herrick took over the tiny store in 1977, five years after an association of folk enthusiasts founded it.

Today, the store is a virtual shrine to acoustic music, its walls hung with banjos and guitars beautifully adorned with honey-colored inlaid wood and gleaming metal fittings. Deering banjos, and National Steel guitars are among the many instruments in stock.

Speak
Forsaking familiar swing-a-ling stylings and clearly-defined soloing for big backbeats and collective improvisation, the music of Speak captures the spirit of jazz in a new and electrifying context influenced by metal, noise and classical music.

"Throughout the evening's performance, it became increasingly clear that the ensemble moves, grows and shifts as if one single organism, re-shaping its very nature in real-time." - Earshot Jazz, July 2009

Two of the members of Speak are: Aaron Otheim, and Luke Bergman who are instructors at Moore Brothers Music

Moore Brothers Music instructors Luke Berman, and Aaron Otheim's band, "Speak", was nominated by Earshot Jazz for emerging artist and alternative jazz group of the year!
Heatwarmer
"It is impossible to 'just like' Heatwarmer. The band snags bits from discarded American music: honky tonk, smooth jazz, patriotic show tunes, and lets them reflect on each other, tracing the common yet lost emotional potential of USA uncool." - Anand, Publicola

"Eclectism enveloped Heatwarmer's musical compositions, a varied combination of progressive, synthesized orchestra harmonies and
pedestrian, DIY kitsch." - Chris Govella, The Stranger

Some of the members of the band (Luke Bergman, Aaron Otheim, and Kristian Garrard)are instructors at Moore Brothers Music.
